  1. Do I need sailing experience? No, anyone is welcome to join, no matter what their experience. Joining a club like ours is the best way to start learning to sail. We run training sessions and to join in you don't even need equipment or a boat. Find out more...
  2. Do I need my own boat? No, other members are always looking for crews.
  3. Is there a waiting List? There is not a waiting list to join but there is a waiting list for boat spaces.
  4. Is there a joining fee? Yes, there is a joining fee. Find out more...
  5. Can I sail at YSBC without becoming a member? Yes, there is a temporary membership fee but as boat storage space is limited, boats cannot be stored on site. Find out more...
  6. When is safety cover available? During all Training sessions at least one patrol boat will be on the water.
  7. Are there restrictions to when I can use the Club's facilities? No, Members may use the changing rooms at any time. Keys are available to unlock the compound gates and these can be purchased from the Membership Secretary. However, safety on the water is your sole responsibility.
  8. Do I have to do club duties? Although the Club does not require members to carry out specific duties we do rely on volunteers to carry out many of the jobs around the Club. So if you have some spare time please offer a little of your time.
  9. Do I have to race? No. But if you are out while a race is taking place please stay well clear of the course. Find out more...
